About Rough Cut Band ltd

The Band

Rough Cut was formed on 17th of May 2017 as a Pub band.  We spent most of our first year playing for free in the Hayling Island, Portsmouth and Southampton areas.

We also took part in Pub music festivals and provided music at charity fund raising events.  Pretty soon we were being invited onto local radio stations and were playing some fairly large music festivals including the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth.

Bio

Company Director.

At 13 I joined an adult band called JEM and played bass for them for a couple of years. I was very short for my age and my bass guitar was actually taller than me when stood upright. All of the ladies fell for the little kid on a big stage. Now at 54 and with a lot less teeth I don't get the same attention.

I've played Jazz, Rock, blues, Funk bass.  I also play acoustic and electric 6 string and 12 string guitars. I have recorded a couple of albums and worked with some big names but not into name dropping.  I just love to play live.

The Company "Rough Cut Band Ltd" was formed on 4th Feb 2019 to assist our clients that needed an official reciept for our services.  As a Private Limited Company we are in a position to assist clients with filing their accounts to the dreaded Tax Man.

However most clients do not need this service but are more than happy with the public liabilities insurance that comes with Rough Cut.

I am a drummer and sound engineer living in Hampshire, England. I have many years experience as a drummer having first picked up the sticks at school before going on to do Music Performance and Technology in college. Since then I have been active both in the studio and live. I have tracked drums for Davey Anscombe, recorded with Billy Bragg, performed alongside Benny Gallagher (Gallagher and Lyle) and played with Rough Cut at a number of venues including the Victorious Festival. I have also worked as a sound engineer at small festivals in the south of England and co-produced in the studio.

Bio

I studied music at the University of Chichester, graduating with an upper second honours degree.

My  main love in life has always been performing and performing in a band at  some point. I performed in opera's during my time at University and  belonged to a 1940's trio group called the 'Bon Temp Sisters'. In addition to this I performed with the university's pop  orchestra, sang in a production of the best West End musical 'Wicked'  and sang a solo performance of classic song, made famous by Shirley  Bassey for the James Bond film, 'Goldfinger.' I have also sung at weddings and other celebratory functions and since  joining Rough Cut I have performed at a variety of different pubs as  well as beer festivals.

In my  spare time I create demos, singing a wide range of genres, from old time  classics to up to date songs, while putting my own individual 'spin' on  them.
